Returnee Connections Database

You can enter data into the database if you have returnee connections that will be helpful to others and you can search the database to find returnee connections that will be helpful to your returnee.  To enter data or search, a password is required.  if you don't have it, you can email David Larson at [email protected] or text him at 716-725-1830.

You will have the option to enter data or search for a contact.  See below for instructions on each.

To enter data for a new contact:
Fill in the general information indicating the location(s) of your point of contact for returnees.
You will have to fill in a new form for each contact or area.

This information is requested for each field (red indicates required fields):

Country: The country of your point of contact (e.g. UK, Spain, Japan, South Korea, etc.).
City: The city where your point of contact is located (e.g. Tokyo, London, Madrid, etc.).
Area: Metropolitan areas can be quite large. If you know it, enter the specific area where your contact is located (e.g. East End, Gangnam-du). This is optional so you can leave it blank if you don't know the area of the city.
Contact Name: Normally you will enter your name as the staff person who knew the contact, not the name of your contact. Those looking for a connection for their returnees will contact you.  However, if you have permission from the contact and they are not concerned about security, then you can put the name of the contact directly.
Email: Enter the primary email address matching the contact listed above.  For ISI staff, your @internationalstudents.org address is preferred. An alternative email address may be used if there are security concerns.
Phone: Enter a phone number where you may be contacted. Please use this format: ___-___-___.
Additional Information: Is there anything else you would like us to know about this contact? This field can be helpful to the person making the query to identify which contact will be most useful for the returnee.  Just be careful not to be so specific that you compromise the security of the person.
To Search for a Contact

In most cases, you will fill out only the country and city fields.  All records for that country and city will be displayed.  If the entry has information on the area of the city, that will also be displayed.

The name field can usually be left blank.  But it can be useful if you want to find all the records for which you are the contact, in which case you can put your name in this field.  There is an edit option if you want to update a record.  Deleting the record is an admin action, so if you no longer want that record in the system, email David Larson at [email protected] and ask him to remove it.
